Located in the heart of the arts district in Tallahassee, the Freight Yard is an industrial-themed housing development focused on sustainability and innovation. The shipping container-inspired building consists of 32 apartments, a courtyard, five retail/restaurant modules, as well as ample space for pop-up stores.
Meant to act as a next generation housing community, the Freight Yard was designed to be a Net Zero project, with photovoltaic panels for clean energy and high-efficiency water heaters to reduce waste. The building is situated around a private courtyard that houses a tranquil native landscape complete with commissioned art pieces and outdoor seating areas. Phase two of the Freight Yard will come in 2020.
