Starbucks at Velda Dairy

Location: Tallahassee, Florida
Size: 2,450 SF
Year: 2026

Located along Thomasville Road in Tallahassee, Florida, this new 2,425-square-foot Starbucks was designed as a standalone prototype café featuring a drive-thru, indoor seating, and a covered outdoor patio. Developed in close coordination with Starbucks’ design team, the project adapts the company’s latest prototype standards while creating a strong architectural presence along one of Tallahassee’s primary commercial corridors. Clean contemporary forms, expansive storefront glazing, and a carefully balanced material palette contribute to an inviting customer experience while reinforcing the recognizable Starbucks brand.

The architectural design combines thin brick veneer, warm wood-look accent panels, expansive glazing, and bold steel canopies to create a contemporary exterior that is both durable and visually distinctive. A thoughtfully integrated covered patio extends the customer experience outdoors while strengthening the building’s pedestrian presence, resulting in a refined retail building that balances the efficiency of Starbucks’ prototype with high-quality architectural detailing and a modern aesthetic. Conn Architects provided the architectural shell design, adapting Starbucks’ prototype building in coordination with the Starbucks design team, while the completed interior spaces, finishes, furnishings, and branded environment shown in these photographs were designed by Starbucks and its interior design team.
